Commissioning training

Voluntary Action Leeds, working with Leeds City Council and WYCAS are once again delivering workshops to support third sector organisations in Leeds access grants and contracts available through the commissioning process.

Leeds City Council, CCG’s and other public sector purchasers of goods and services have moved from awarding only grants to more formal service level agreements and contracts.  This is part of the commissioning process which involves the assessment of a communities needs and buying in organisations to provide services to meet those needs.  Within the commissioning process commissioners are keen to explore new ways for those public agencies and the service providers to achieve better outcomes for local communities. The first introductory session will help groups to understand the commissioning processes in Leeds, who the key commissioners are, help you decide if contracting for services is for you and how to go about it and is aimed at voluntary or community sector organisation new to, or looking to consider, funding through commissioning opportunities as a way of supporting their work.

If you are an organisation considering bidding for a contract the “Bidding for Contracts” session will take you through the bidding process and help you to complete key questions, a commissioner will be at the session to give you their view of what makes a successful tender. The Pricing up Contracts session delivered by WYCAS will help you to put together a budget for your tender.
