Huddersfield businesswoman, Katrina Cliffe, founder of marketing and public relations agency KC Communications is set to return to Salendine Nook, the school in which she attended as a teen, in the role of Enterprise Adviser.
Set up by the Leeds Enterprise Partnership (LEP), the Enterprise Adviser roles connect senior leaders in business to senior leaders in schools, to influence and develop the school’s career and enterprise strategy along with providing students regular and relevant access to employers.
Katrina Cliffe, Managing Director commented: “Running a successful business and being a mother to two children, I firmly believe that we have a responsibility to provide young people looking to enter the workplace with insight into the skills and qualities business require to ensure they are not only employable but contribute to the economic growth of the region.”
Lindsey Johnson, Enterprise Coordinator at Leeds Enterprise Partnership, added: “Preparing young people to succeed in life and work is fundamental to what we ask of our schools. We recognise the importance employers play in this aim, so recruitment of high calibre volunteers from business and industry is vital to the success of our programmes. I am delighted that Katrina has come forward to support the school with their employer engagement and enterprise agenda. There are some very imaginative programmes planned in already.”
While Katrina can provide an insight into the qualities businesses are looking for along with an overview of the marketing industry, Salendine Nook High School are looking for professionals from a background of industries, in particular, the digital media, medical and emergency services to broaden their offering to pupils.
