Leeds office of global law firm Squire Patton Boggs raises a fantastic £23,000

Leeds Mencap are over the moon with the result of the 2016 partnership with the local office of global law firm Squire Patton Boggs who have raised an amazing £23,000 for those living with learning disabilities in Leeds. Cath Lee, CEO of Leeds Mencap has said this;

“Squire Patton Boggs has been amazing and we feel so lucky to have worked with a committee that has such energy and enthusiasm. The company committed to lots of different events on site and off. I don’t think there is an event they haven’t done; from bake sales to euro sweepstakes to singing in Leeds Train Station, sponsored runs, the amazing challenge of walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks, Poker nights, corporate curry lunches and even bringing in an element of fundraising into an entire office relocation  by auctioning off furniture – just brilliant.”

Zakir Mulla, Partner

“When we were selecting our Leeds Office Charity for 2016, we were looking for an organisation which was doing some excellent work within the local community so that the whole of our Leeds office could get behind the project. Leeds Mencap fitted that bill. We wanted the organisation to work closely with us. Leeds Mencap has been extremely proactive being there every step of the way and providing advice and assistance when needed. It has therefore been a genuine partnership, making 2016 a very successful year”

People with a learning disability find it harder than others to learn, understand and communicate.  Leeds Mencap offers support to people with very different needs and aspirations in order to help ensure that they live a fulfilling life and achieve their goals. To continue to provide these valuable services, Leeds Mencap are on the lookout for more corporate partners who would like to make the most of the teambuilding and engagement opportunities that working with a charity presents.

If you would like to help Leeds Mencap to help others, either as a corporate or an individual then please contact Sarah Hooker on sarah.hooker@leedsmencap.org.uk or call 0113 2351331.
