Here at Heart Research UK we’re excited to be launching our very own Christmas campaign to raise money called Sing for your Heart with the help of celebrities including Boyzone, Alesha Dixon, Aston Merrygold, Christopher Biggins, Linda Robson, Piers Morgan, Lesley Joseph, Beverly Knight, Stacey Solomon, Audley Harrison, Kay Adams, and Nadia Sawalha.
Sing for your Heart is a social media campaign that will see celebrities and the public upload a short video of themselves singing, before nominating up to three friends and donating just £3 for Heart Research UK. Think Ice Bucket Challenge but with singing not freezing cold water – well it is December!
Our campaign launch video features 6-year-old Jaxon who suffers from congenital heart disease. His emotional story, told by himself and his mum and dad, can be viewed on our YouTube channel here. Research is hope and more funds are needed to fund our pioneering medical research into heart disease.
Around 7 million people are living with cardiovascular disease in the UK and many have been helped thanks to pioneering medical research. However 70,000 people die from coronary heart disease every year – the UK’s single biggest killer. More research is needed to help prevent these deaths and to help families like Jaxon.
We’d be delighted if you would cover this fantastic campaign for such a worthwhile cause.
Our supporting celebrities and Jaxon and his family are available for interviews and appearances, scheduling permitting.
Contact Edward Connolly, PR and Media Officer at Heart Research UK, to talk about celebrities and scheduling on 0113 234 7474 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more info.
All content including YouTube videos are embargoed until Friday 1 December. But here’s a sneak preview of Boyzone’s video and also Biggins’ video – just a selection of the videos already filmed ahead of launch.
